A Spring Stroll through Limekilns with My Helios 44-2
Limekilns in spring is pure magic. The cobbled lanes, the crooked cottages, and the bursts of colour spilling from every doorstep make it feel like you’ve wandered into a storybook. I took my vintage Helios 44-2 lens with me and let it guide my eyes.
The lens, with its quirks and swirly bokeh, is ideal for these soft, quiet scenes. The backstreets were lined with all kinds of wildflowers that thrive in the cracks and corners – no two the same. Every shot felt like a little time capsule.
I didn’t go looking for anything in particular—just wandered, paused, and noticed. The way the light hit a wall. A cat saying hi. The petals catching the early evening sun.
Limekilns always offers something special. But this time, it gave me a reminder to slow down, look closer, and let the lens do the talking.
